The captain of the United States golf team, Tom Watson has admitted that he needs to speak privately with his team member and world number one Tiger Woods to heal the rift developed between them ahead of next year's Ryder Cup at Gleneagles, Scotland.
According to Sport24, Watson have not spoken properly with Woods after he criticised Woods at the 2010 Dubai Desert Classic following revelations of Woods extra-marital affairs, saying that Woods 'messed up' and that he had to take ownership' and 'get his personal life back in order'.
Stating that he has not had a proper conversation with Woods since then despite an informal chat at the former champions dinner at this year's US Open, Watson said that he needs to have a private, sit down conversation with Woods to resolve the issues between them.
However, Watson disagreed with Woods conceding Italian Francesco Molinari's putt at in the final Sunday Singles match at last year's Ryder Cup, with Woods' gesture ensuring that the pair halved their match and moments after Europe had claimed victory in a stunning come-from-behind success.
Woods has competed in all but one Ryder Cup since making his debut in 1997 and with the exception being in 2008 when injured, although he has the one of the poorest records winning just 13 of 33 matches, the report added.
