Usher's 5-year-old son, Usher Raymond V, was rushed to a hospital in Atlanta, after he nearly drowned in the family swimming pool, when his hand got stuck in the drain.
Atlanta police rep, Carlos Campos, said that the child's aunt, Rena Odin, and a maid had tried in vain to free the child, who had been trying to retrieve a toy that had fallen into the drain, but two workmen managed to free the boy, the New York Daily News reported.
Campos asserted that the Raymond V was "conscious, alert and breathing" when paramedics arrived before 4 p.m.
Campos added that even though the boy is still recuperating in the hospital, doctors expect a full recovery.
