The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and the Jammu administration have decided to tone down the celebrations on the annual Navratra festival this year due to the loss of lives and property destruction because of the devastating floods in Jammu and Kashmir.
The festival will be celebrated this year with minimal celebrations. Only 'Bhagwat Katha' will be organized on daily basis.
The Kalash Yatra will be performed as per the rituals.
"All the tracks are open and yatra is picking up and more yatra is expected during the Navratra festival," said Mandeep Bhandari, Chief Executive Officer of the Shrine Board.
More than 25,000 people visit the Vaishno Devi during the Navratra every year.
