Manchester United football team manager Louis van Gaal has said that his ambition is to bring the Premier League title back to the club after his men thrashed recently promoted Queens Park Rangers 4-0.
The Dutchman was handed his first win since taking charge of United in the summer after United beat QPR 4-0 at Old Trafford.
Van Gaal said that he wants to win the Premier League title, and added that if it is not this year then the second or third year, The BBC reported.
The Dutchman, who won domestic titles in his first seasons in charge of both Barcelona and Bayern Munich, said that he wants to give a championship to the fans.
Van Gaal has been set a target of a top-three finish by chief executive Ed Woodward.
After scoring just twice in their first four games under Van Gaal, Manchester United produced a much-improved display against QPR, which featured Angel Di Maria and Ander Herrera's first goals for the club
However, Van Gaal insists that the main measure of success in his debut campaign will be United's final position in the Premier League, rather than their style of play.
He said that his teams are always focused on attack, but it is not their focus, that is to be in the first three. He said that the most important thing is the trajectory.
Van Gaal said that when one has a result of 4-0 then they can be happy as a coach, but one always has points they can improve. He added that they have always to analyse what they have done.
The Dutchman said that the result is fantastic, but added that United can get much better.
