Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has admitted that every player in his selection list has to fight for their position, indicating that team striker Robin Van Persie could lose his place in the next clash against Hull City.
Van Gaal believes that Van Persie put on a very bad performance against Arsenal, subsequently leading him to substitute the striker after 75 minutes.
Van Gaal stated that he changed Robin, who could only manage 13 touches of the ball when United won 2-1 against Arsenal, as he was not playing good. He believes that Van Persie could regain the lost confidence in a matter of time. He further said that he has told everyone to be in an attacking position so as to help the team to find more space, the Guardian reported.
Speculations are rife that Radamael Falcao's return from injury and James Wilson's impressive form could threaten Van Persie's position against the game against Hull City.
Though the win against Arsenal has placed Manchester United into the top four in the table's point, Van Gaal said that it was not a kind of performance that would boost the team's confidence. Winning with a good performance would give the team more confidence, he added.
