Manchester United forward Robin van Persie has said that he can go on to form a formidable strike partnership with Wayne Rooney at the club.
According to Metro.co.uk, despite Sir Alex Ferguson's reluctance to play the pair up front at the same time last season, the duo have found the target 14 times between them this term under David Moyes.
The Dutchman is determined to build on his partnership with Rooney, but also highlighted the importance of Javier Hernandez to United's attacking balance, the report said.
He said that Rooney was a great player and in his opinion, good players could always play together, adding that he thought they showed that against Stoke.
He added that the club showed it last season, showed it earlier this season and can hopefully keep showing that because they do want to play together.
