Union Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore has said Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's one-sided statements have flared up the situation arising out of the prolonged row over the entry of women of menstrual age into Sabarimala temple.
"Law and order situation is very serious in Kerala. Two days back, Rajya Sabha MP V Muraleedharan's house was attacked with a bomb. The situation is very serious all over Kerala. When Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan makes one-sided statements, he only flares up the situation," said Rathore while talking to ANI.
On Thursday, a clash erupted between BJP and the CPM workers in front of the state secretariat in Thiruvananthapuram over the entry of two women-Bindu and Kanakadurga-of the menstrual age group into Sabarimala temple on January 2, in which one person died.
Protesters also pelted stones, raised slogans and hurled abuses against each other. The victim Chandran Unnithan was participating in a march organised by the Sangh Parivar-backed Sabarimala Action Council, which alleged the CPM workers attacked the protesters participating in the rally, leaving Unnithan gravely injured. Unnithan, who was allegedly injured in stone pelting, was rushed to a hospital but could not be saved.
Kerala Chief Minister has said that Sabarimala Karma Samithi worker Chandran Unnithan died of heart attack and not due to injuries he sustained during the clash between the BJP and the CPM workers.
