The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Monday slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) senior leader Kailash Vijayvargiya for comparing Shatrughan Sinha to a dog, saying it is yet another instance of intolerance.

"If this (remarks by BJP leaders) is going on unabated, then I think this is just one step Bihar, BJP will be wiped off all throughout the country unless they stop this. This is nothing but yet another instance of intolerance and arrogance," NCP leader Majeed Memon told ANI.

"Kailash ji's statement was very uncalled for and very unfortunate. On one hand, we see that Arun Jaitley attributes the defeat in Bihar to bad mouth and now this bad mouthing is continuing," he added.

Vijayvargiya had yesterday expressed his disappointment over Shatrughan Sinha's remarks on the party's debacle in the Bihar polls and compared him to a dog walking past a car and thinking that the car was following it.

"Jab gaadi chalti hai, kutta niche chalta hai, Kutta samajhta hai gaadi mere bharose chal rahi hai (Suppose a vehicle is going and a dog walks past it, the dog thinks that the vehicle is moving because of it). A party is not run by one person, it is a group, there is a chain," Vijayvargiya told ANI in Indore.
