Janata Dal (United) chief Sharad Yadav on Tuesday said leaders holding Constitutional posts should ascertain that no inconvenience is caused to the public because of their movement.
Yadav was reacting to the incident in which a vehicle belonging to Haryana Chief Minister M L Khattar's convoy ran over a pedestrian near Karnal yesterday evening.
"They will give compensation. A life of a common man is being equated to compensation these days. People holding constitutional posts should take care of people. They should ascertain that no inconvenience is caused to common people because of their movement," Yadav said.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Khattar had ordered an inquiry into the matter earlier in the day.
Two policemen, including the driver of the vehicle also got injured in the incident.
