Union Minority Affairs Minister Najma Heptulla on Monday said her ministry is considering to link Waqf properties with the Aadhaar numbers of the Mutwallis (manager of Waqf property) for more transparent records, and an accurate and genuine identification of properties.

Speaking at the inauguration function of the Central Waqf Bhawan, Heptulla said the NDA Government is working with all inclusive and comprehensive approach for ensuring 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas'. She said that her ministry would ensure that the benefit of the schemes launched by the government reach the target beneficiaries.

Minister of State for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi was also present on the occasion.

Naqvi said the government is working honestly with a commitment to enable the minorities reap an equal share through participation in the country's development process.

He said the NDA Government has established a mechanism to ensure that every single penny of the grant given by the Centre for the welfare of the minorities is spent honestly and with transparency.

The Central Waqf Bhawan will serve as the office building of the Central Waqf Council. The Central Waqf Council was established in 1964 under the provision of Wakf Act, 1954 as an advisory body to Central Government on Waqf matters.
