Australian batsman David Warner is reportedly planning to apologise to the teammates of his grade-club for failing to turn up for their grade fixture last weekend in favour of a net session.

Warner was handed a suspended one-match ban for the rest of the one-day and Sheffield Shield season by Cricket New South Wales (NSW) for skipping a game for Randwick-Petersham, and was also ordered to play the next two Saturdays of grade cricket.

According to News.com.au, Warner said that although it was important for him to have net practice in order to perform for both the national team and for NSW, he has realised that it was wrong of him to skip his grade match, for which he will apologise to his grade club teammates when he next meet them.

Warner missed the first two Ashes Tests in England earlier this year after he punched England batsman Joe Root in a Birmingham bar during the ICC Champions Trophy, the report added.
