Was really scared while playing 'Bose' for web series: Rajkummar Rao

New Delhi [India], Apr. 14 (ANI): Ekta Kapoor, head honcho of Balaji Telefilms has brought together the lethal combination of Hansal Mehta and Rajkummar Rao. The two have always resulted in making award winning, as well as path breaking movies such as Shahid, Citylights and Aligarh together. The power duo is now back together with their next project but on a completely different platform - digital media.

Rao, who is known for bringing real life people on reel life, will be seen portraying the character of the greatest hero of our country, Subhas Chandra Bose, on the Kapoor's new digital media platform of ALTBalaji.

Rajkummar, who impressed us all with his powerhouse performance in 'Trapped', said, "I was really scared while playing the role of Bose as he is such a huge public figure."

He further added, "There are many things which we don't know about him and so they have tried to explore all those arenas through this web- series. There was lot of mystery behind Bose's disappearance and so we are trying to cover everything in this series".

Sharing how he prepared for his role, the 'Citylights' actor said, "I read lot of books on Bose and also saw a lot of documentaries in order to know him better. I also watched some real footage of Bose in order to know him and his life in a better way."

When asked which character he would like to bring to the silver screen, Rao said, "I would love to play Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on the silver screen as this is something which I really looking forward too."

Sharing his views about the great freedom fighter, Rao added, "Bose had quite a fascinating life and his love for motherland is not hidden from anyone, and it also makes me feel very responsible when I am playing such roles because people know the legendary freedom fighter and a lot of expectations are over me."

On the work front, the 32-year-old actor will be next seen in the comedy drama 'Behen Hogi Teri', where he would star opposite Shruti Haasan, with the film being slated to release on May 26.
