Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of 67th Republic Day urged the nation to reaffirm the unwavering commitment to uphold the ideals of India's Constitution and strengthen the Republic.
"Today we remember all the great women and men who contributed in the framing of our Constitution. I salute, Dr, BabaSaheb Ambedkar, who as the chairman of the drafting committee, provide exceptional leadership during the making of the constitution. Our constitution is extensive and elaborate. It is not merely a legal document but also a social document. It does no talk of rights only but even emphasis on duties," said Prime Minister Modi.
"A few weeks ago, the Crop Insurance Scheme was cleared by the Cabinet. This scheme marks a paradigm shift in the agricultural sector. For the first time, our hardworking farmers will be provided a comprehensive security cover. Through this scheme, we are telling our farmer sisters and brothers that they are never alone and that the Government stands shoulder to shoulder with them in their endeavours," he added.
