A Welsh golfer was reportedly left bitterly disappointed after he found out that the Mercedes, which he believed that he won as a prize for hitting a hole in one, actually only goes to the players who hit a hole in one in the fourth and final round at the World Cup of Golf in Melbourne.
World number 346 Stuart Manley celebrated wildly and even patted the car, which was on display, although his ecstatic high turned into agony when he was informed that told the car only went to those who hit a hole in one in the fourth and final round and he slumped to an 11 on his ensuing hole, the fourth.
According to CNN, Manley said that the incident was the 'highest high' and then the 'lowest low' that he had ever experienced on a golf course, adding that he was buzzing with adrenaline as he thought that the car would soon become his given the crowd and the media hype.
Despite the disastrous fourth, the report mentioned that Manley managed to finish the round at one-over 72 and stands at two under, total, entering play on Sunday.
Australian golf ace Jason Day, who lost eight of his relatives in the deadly typhoon in the Philippines this month, led on home soil, one shot better than Denmark's Thomas Bjorn. Manley was tied for eighth, seven shots adrift, the report added.
