White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough has expressed confidence in the Iraqi army to combat Islamic State militants.
According to ABC News, McDonough said that the new multi-ethnic government in Iraq would now support the forces to fight IS militants.
However, the WH chief did not mention when the U.S. would take action in Syria.
McDonough also said that the U.S. is doing everything to find out about the IS executioners who have beheaded two American journalists and one British citizen till now.
Last week, President Barack Obama announced his strategy to fight the militant group and said that they would 'degrade and ultimately destroy' them.
