William Phipps, an actor best known for lending his voice to the role of Prince Charming in the Disney classic 'Cinderella', died at the age of 96.
Phipps died on Friday night at UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica after a prolonged battle with lung cancer, confirmed The Hollywood Reporter.
In 1951, Phipps essayed the role of a young poet who survived a nuclear explosion, in 'Five', and then fought Martians in 'The War of the Worlds' (1953) and 'Invaders From Mars' (1953).
After his brother was killed in an attack on a plane during World War II, Phipps served as a radioman in the U.S. Navy.
Phipps' first wife died in an automobile accident, while his second marriage ended in divorce.
