New Zealand star batsman Kane Williamson was happy with the style of play he was batting and was really pleased to prove that elegance and timing still has a place in one-day international cricket.
Williamson scored a brilliant century to help his side to a three-wicket win over England in Southampton and go 2-1 up in the five-match series.
Williamson said that he did not think that being aggressive has to mean slogging or hitting the ball 150 metres, adding that he thought the style of play was what one wants to achieve in an innings and the runs he would want to get, Sport24 reported.
Williamson, who scored his seventh century in 77 ODI matches, proved the traditional virtues of touch and timing still remain effective in this format of the game.
