Former world number one Caroline Wozniacki's miserable run at the Roland Garros continued as she suffered a second-round exit at the hands of Germany's Julia Goerges.

Wozniacki, who had made only one appearance in the quarter-finals in 2010, was never in the hunt as she lost 6-4, 7-6 (7-4), the BBC reported.

Meanwhile, fourth seed Petra Kvitova recovered from a loss of the first set to win against Spain's Silvia Soler-Espinosa 6-7 (4-7) 6-4 6-2.
