Chinese President Xi Jinping is expected to visit the United States, France and Italy later this month to ease tensions over trade and technology security, reported the South China Morning Post.
Xi will embark for Italy in March and then head to France from there. He will then make a planned stop at US President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
This comes after Trump offered a second Mar-a-Lago summit "weeks ago" while Xi offered to host the US president in Hainan.
Amid the trade war, the US visit by Jinping is considered as crucial as two countries are holding high-level talks regular interval to reach a consensus on trade. The delegations of Chinese foreign ministry officials reached the US last month to hold talks US-China deal.
The US President had earlier threatened to raise tariffs on the USD 200 Billion of Chinese products from 10 per cent to 25 per cent at the end of the period of truce on March 1. Upon "successful" trade talks between the two nations, he later indicated that he might extend the March 1 deadline to work out a deal.
Along with trade war, Chinese major tech giant Huawei has come under global scrutiny after the US raised security concern regarding equipment.
Recently, Chinese technology giant Huawei has been barred from providing equipment for fifth-generation wireless networks in countries including the US, Japan, and Australia.
Various countries including Canada and Sweden have also questioned the technology ties with China.
Late in January, the US Department of Justice announced 13 criminal charges against Huawei, its CFO Meng Wanzhou, and its affiliates in the US and Hong Kong.
