Xiaomi Electronics, a Chinese electroin company is planning to set up an Indian-based ecosystem, said Hugo Barra, Xiaomi's vice-president in charge of international business.
Xiaomi corporation became the latest Chinese smartphone manufacturer to make its debut in India.
The privately owned company, based in Beijing, expects to gain popularity among the masses of Asia-Pacific region.
The company, however, has not disclosed its sales target as yet but is reportedly selling its flagship through an online marketplace, Flipkart.
Research director of market data firm Canalys China claims that the company had gained a global attention in the West and that oversees market was a challenging field.
The director also said that it was too early to decipher Xiaomi's international strategy.
The company is likely to expand its market to Mexico, Brazil and Singapore, after having sold more than 26 million smartphones in the initial six months.
