Yaya Toure's agent Dimitri Seluk has said that the Manchester City mid-fielder would not be leaving as the club had told him that he was "too important" to let go.

Seluk recently claimed that Toure, who was 90 percent sure to leave the club at the end of the season, would now stay, the BBC has reported.

Toure, helped his club finish second in the Premier League, scoring 10 goals in 29 matches.

The former Barcelona player joined the club in 2010 and has helped them win the English title twice - in 2012 and 2014 - the FA Cup in 2011 and the League Cup in 2014.

Toure still has two years to run on his current deal.
