Nepal's Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bam Dev Gautam has welcomed an initiative by young Nepalese citizens to play an active role in the reconstruction of the nation following the April 25 and May 12 earthquakes that left a trail of devastation and displacement of humans.
The participation of Nepali youths in the reconstruction and rebuilding of quake-damaged areas in the country was recently emphasized during the celebration of the International Youth Day.
Gautam said that harnessed in the right way, the conntribution of Nepalese youths could take Nepal to greater heights.
Youth and Sports Minister Purushottam Poudel was quoted by the Xinhua news agency, as urging Nepalese youths to create a "healthy and productive manpower" for the future.
The theme of Nepal's International Youth Day celebration was " Participation of Youth in Reconstruction.
