Zayn Malik has revealed in his recent Fader magazine interview that he was planning to quit One Direction from quite a while and it was not at all spontaneous.
The 22-year-old singer said that he wasn't sure when exactly he wanted to step out alone, but one fine day he took the decision to fly solo because he had enough, E! Online reported.
The former One Direction member added that he took a decision to leave the boy band because he didn't have creative freedom and liberty to experiment with the music, also whenever he used to put-in personal effort, "it was like it didn't fit us" due to having a general conception that the management already had of what they wanted for the band, and he wasn't convinced with what they were selling.
Malik has now launched his solo career by releasing his first single song 'Befour'.
