Zimbabwe's Environment Minister Oppah Muchinguri has called for the United States dentist who killed Cecil the lion to face trial for financing an illegal hunt.

Walter Palmer's extradition was being sought so that he could 'be held accountable for his illegal action', the BBC reported.

Palmer is believed to have paid about 50,000 dollars to hunt the lion.

The White House, yesterday, had said that it would review a public petition to extradite the American dentist after the signature of more than 1lakh.
