2016 Nissan Maxima To Make World Debut at 2015 New York Auto Show

Nissan, the Japanese automaker will showcase its 2016 Maxima at the upcoming 2015 New York Auto Show. Based on the automaker’s Sport Sedan Concept which was first showcased at the 2014 Detroit Motor show, the 2016 Nissan Maxima embraces a floating roof, aggressive beltline and swooping rear end. The flagship model recently made a cameo appearance at the end of Nissan’s Super Bowl advert “With Dad”. Watch the Super Bowl advert below.

The automaker has reduced the size of wheels from the concept model to the production version. The V-motion front end and unique floating roof design was first appeared in 2015 Nissan Murano Crossover. Mechanically, the car is powered by the 3.5-litre V6 engine, and musters a max output of 260bhp.

In the same commercial break for Super Bowl XLIX, Nissan also revealed its new Le Mans challenger, the Nissan GT-R LM NISMO. The sportscar is powered by front-engined, 3.0-litre, twin turbo V6 motor coupled with kinetic energy recovery system.

The new car will participate in the LM P1 class of the FIA World Endurance Championship, the highest category in world sports car racing. The championship will kick off at Silverstone, UK on 12th of April and travel around the world to Spa in Belgium, followed by Le Mans 24 Hours and Germany’s Nurburgring, before going global with races in the US, Japan, China and the Middle East.
