Ford Figo Hatchback to be launched before this Diwali season

During today’s launch of the Ford Figo Aspire, a representative of Ford has revealed that the 2015 Ford Figo hatchback will be launched before Diwali, this year. The car was previously scheduled for a Diwali launch and was spied undisguised at some of the Ford dealerships in Rajasthan. The car, just like all other Ford models features the Aston Martin lookalike grill and the overall look till the rear doors is irrevocably similar to the Aspire.

Figo hatchback comes with all-black interior and has silver accents in the same dash layout. The Titanium variant features Ford’s 4.2-inch SYNC infotainment system with AppLink and like the Aspire, the hatchback also features automatic climate control unit. The pattern of alloys remain the same, except for the size, which will be 14-inches and the car will be available in the sparkling gold colour, which is shared by the Aspire. The dual airbags come as standard in the Figo and like the Aspire, the Titanium+ variant will also feature segment-first 6-airbags.

Engines    

The 2015 Figo hatchback will feature the same engine options as the Aspire compact sedan. And like the Aspire, the 1.5-liter Ti-VCT 4-cylinder petrol with 6-speed dual-clutch automatic might also find its way in the hatchback, although, the possibilities of this happening are low.  

1.2-liter Ti-VCT -  Heavily modified version of the Figo’s 1.2 Duratec motor. The 4-cylinder block gets independent variable valve timing for both intake and exhaust valve; the motor now generates 88 PS @ 6300 rpm and 112 Nm @ 4000 rpm of peak torque and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

1.5-liter TDCi - It is expected that Figo will also get the uprated 1.5-liter TDCI diesel with 10 PS power and torque bump, the oil burner now generates 100 PS @ 3750 rpm and class leading torque of 215 Nm @ 1750 - 3000 rpm of torque. The power is sent to a 5-speed manual gearbox and it returns an impressive 25.83 kmpl in the Aspire compact sedan.

1.5-liter Ti-VCT Petrol with 6-Speed DCT -  The motor produces 112 PS @ 6300 rpm and 136 Nm @ 4250 rpm of max twist in Aspire. The engine is coupled to a 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.
