Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) has witnessed a blistering growth of 163 per cent in the last month of 2014! The Japanese automaker has rolled out 14,428 units in domestic market in December 2014 compared to 5,493 units in the same period - 2013. Moreover, HCIL also registered its highest ever domestic sales this year with 179,816 units sold in between Jan – December 2014 garnering overall growth of 67% compared to 107,661 units during the period Jan - December 2013.

Delighted Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, Sr. Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd. stated on the company’s performance, “Year 2014 has been a very successful year for HCIL business with record sales of crossing 1.79 lakh units in the domestic market in a calendar year. 2 successful launches of Honda City and Honda Mobilio coupled with strong demand for all models throughout the year have contributed to 67% growth in HCIL sales in 2014. Honda’s fast expanding dealer network in Tier III markets has further contributed to this sales growth.”
Speaking on the sales breakdown, City continuing with its strong sales spree, recorded 6012 units last month. 5176 units of Honda Amaze rolled out last month while its twin hatch - Brio’s 1120 units were sold. Moreover, apart from the initial sales bump, Japanese automakers debutant MPV - Mobilio settled in-between 2-3k units monthly, registered 2098 units last month. The sole petrol SUV in its segment - CR-V records its usual - 22 units last month.
