Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), the country’s second largest car manufacturer and the largest passenger car exporter organised India’s first of its kind i20 Reverse Revolution Drive at Phoenix Marketcity, Bangalore. The innovative reverse drive was conceptualised to highlight the prominence of segment first features of i20 like Rear Parking Camera with display in the cabin mirror, Reverse Parking with Sensors and Electro Chromic Mirror.
The activity was designed to drive around on a pre-decided imitation track at Phoenix Market City in reverse gear, optimising the use of features like the Rear Parking Camera and Reverse Parking Sensors. The event gathered multiple entries into the social media contest and witnessed participation by over 300 shortlisted enthusiasts and Hyundai loyalists, who were accompanied by their families for the two day end-to-end experience on 17th and 18th May, 2014.
Commenting on this initiative, Mr. Rakesh Srivastava, Sr. VP- Sales and Marketing, HMIL said, “Hyundai iGen i20 with its stylish looks, high performance and a host of unique features created a benchmark in the premium hatchback segment. We are extremely delighted to receive the overwhelming response for Reverse Revolution Drive. The initiative has helped us in creating a community of i20 customers that personifies the trendy, modern and premium aspects of Hyundai. Reverse Drive is another occasion to show our commitment to become the life time partner of our customers and to be the most loved and trusted car manufacturer in India.
Hyundai has constantly aimed to organise and conceptualise various modern and innovative initiatives. The iGen i20 participants were shortlisted after a series of social media engagements that took place on Facebook. In addition to this, i20 customers were contacted through tele-calling and e-mailers to get their participation. The selection procedure was divided into three phases that included seeking participation on the social media engagements, selecting participants through lucky draws and shortlisting the final contestants, and finally the drive on 17th and 18th of May, 2014. The final winners of the Reverse Revolution were gratified with fabulous prizes.
