India Bound: Jaguar XE Production Begins at Land Rovers - Solihull Plant

Tata owned British marque starts the production of India bound Jaguar XE at the extended Land Rover Solihull manufacturing facility in the United Kingdom. The new XE plonks Jaguar into entry level luxury segment rivaling Audi A4 and BMW 3 Series majorly throughout the globe. The vehicle is already on sale in UK and is expected to be launched in India at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo, in Feb. Moreover, the Jaguar debutant SUV - F-Pace will also join XE at Landy’s Solihull unit this year.
Speaking at the official opening, Alan Volkaerts said: "This really is an incredibly special day for Jaguar Land Rover and the team here at Solihull, many of whom have witnessed the plant change beyond all recognition in recent time. The arrival of the new Jaguar XE marks a new chapter in the history of this plant and showcases the flexibility of our manufacturing operation thanks to a strategic investment in aluminium technologies and infrastructure.”
The aluminium master piece also acquainted the world with Jaguar’s Ingenium range of powerplants. The XE gets 2.0-liter 4-banger Ingenium diesel and petrol engines along with a nutty 3.0-liter V6. The 2.0-liter Ingenium diesel musters - 163 PS and 380 Nm of torque as well as 180 PS and 430 Nm of torque. The 2.0-liter Ingenium turbo petrol puts out 200 PS and 280 Nm of torque as well as 240 PS and 340 Nm of torque. The supercharged 3.0-liter V6 offers 340 PS and 450 Nm of torque.
