Jaguar and Land Rover is celebrating the fifth anniversary of its presence in India. To mark this occasion, the company announced attractive and unique three-year service plans on some of its models for its customers in India.
Both the British brands were bought over by Tata Motors in 2008 from Ford as the American auto giant decided to sell off its PAG (Premium Automotive Group) which included Jaguar, Land Rover, Volvo and even Aston Martin. Alan Mulally had just joined Ford as their new global head and made this decision under his new One Ford strategy. Jaguar was suffering from losses and Land Rover was the only profitable company. Hence, JLR was sold as a package and in the bid, Tata Motors emerged as the winner. Since then there has been no looking back and next month Jaguar will be introducing its new entry-level sedan the XE— the launch has been slated for the 8th of September, and recently the company even unveiled the new Range Rover Sport SVR and LightWeight E-Type.
In the past five years, Jaguar and Land Rover brands have gained significant prominence, acceptance and popularity in India. The company at the moment has twenty-one dealerships across India. Soon, they will expand to 23 outlets by March 2015.
Recently, Jaguar India also announced a multi-city drive program for its customers across India, as part of the Jaguar ‘ALIVE’ Drive Experience This customer engagement initiative offers a chance for customers to drive and experience top-of-the line Jaguar cars. Jaguar Land Rover in India locally manufactures three models at its plant in Pune, Maharashtra. These include, Land Rover Freelander 2, Jaguar XF and the 2014 Jaguar XJ.
Jaguar Land Rover portfolio in India includes Jaguar XJ, Jaguar XF, Jaguar XK and Jaguar F-TYPE. The Land Rover range includes Range Rover Sport, Range Rover, Range Rover Evoque, Discovery 4 and Freelander 2.
