Tata Motors today launched the much-talked about Zest at a staggering price of INR 4.64 Lakhs for the base XE petrol, while the base diesel model XE starts at INR 5.64 Lakhs (ex-showroom New Delhi). The Zest is the first product based on Tata Motors' 'DesigNext, DriveNext, ConnectNext' philosophy. And has been designed with inputs from the three design studios of Tata Motors - Pune, Conventry (UK) and Turin (Italy). The Zest comes with two engine options: a 1.2-litre MPFi turbocharged Revotron petrol engine and a 1.3-litre multijet diesel mills. While the diesel motor is the same that powers the Vista, the 1.2-litre Revotron is Tata's newly-developed turbocharged petrol engine.
