Mobilio will compete with the leading players of the MPV segment – Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Toyota Innova. The MPV will sit in between Innova and Ertiga when it comes to space, features and prices (prices will be announced on 23rd, expected price bracket 8-11 lakh). Mobilio is powered by City borrowed diesel and petrol motors. The 1.5L i-VTEC churns out 117bhp and 145Nm of max torque and the 1.5L i-DTEC 'Earth Dreams' turbo diesel churns out 98bhp and 200Nm of max torque. All the engines are mated to a five-speed manual transmission, no automatic option as of now.
On the feature list Honda is offering Amaze borrowed audio unit, manual air-conditioning with roof mounted AC louvers for second and third row, blue back-lit illumination, heat reflecting green glass, etc. The company will also launch a sportier looking version of the MPV - Mobilio RS, featuring tweaked bumpers, side skirts, day-time-running-LEDs and projector headlamps. Expect the pricing to be competitive just like they did with City and Amaze.
