Led by the increasing demand for its recently-launched entry-level offering Kwid, Renault India has registered a staggering growth of 144 percent in the month of November. The French carmaker sold 7,819 units during last month as against 3,201 units in the corresponding month previous year.
Speaking on the company's sales performance, Sumit Sawhney, CEO and Managing Director, Renault India, said, "When we launched Renault Kwid in India, we committed to launching a new era and benchmark in the Indian automotive industry. The outstanding feedback and unprecedented response to the car have proved us right."
"We are working with a single-minded focus to ramp up production to meet the increasing demand for this revolutionary car. Renault Kwid will continue to play a pivotal role in our expansion plans in India." Sawhney added. "Together with first time buyers, we are also seeing new consumer trends across urban and rural India, reflecting our promise of accessible mobility for all with this attractive, innovative and affordable product."
Renault has ramped-up the production of Kwid in order to meet the growing demand. Alongside this, the company is substantially increasing its sales and service network reach in the country. From 14 sales and service facilities in mid-2011 to 190 currently, Renault aims to touch 240 facilities mark by end of next year, which not only includes development of existing markets, but also new markets in urban, semi-urban and rural parts of India.
