The Mahindra Group shone yet again as it won the first prize at the Best Change Interventions of Asia Seminar 2013 organised by the Learning & Development (L&OD) Roundtable. The Group was honored for its exceptional work on the cultural transformation project to create competitiveness at the marketplace through sustained business outperformance through Mahindra Rise.

The award was received by Ruzbeh Irani, Chief Executive - International Operations Automotive and Farm Equipment Sectors & Member of the Group Executive Board, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. and Prince Augustin, Executive Vice President, Group Human Capital and Leadership Development, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. on behalf of the Group, in the seminar held at Mumbai.

The results were the culmination of the Best Change Interventions of Asia study which focused on the theme of change management with the dynamic socio-economic and business environment prevalent in Asia.

“This is a very proud moment for us as our efforts have been recognised by an international forum. I would like to congratulate the entire team for their hard work, dedication and commitment which ensured that the Mahindra Rise project was successfully deployed across the Group,” said Rajeev Dubey, President (Group HR, Corporate Services & After-Market) & Member of the Group Executive Board, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.

“Our application was chosen out of a total of 40 entries from leading organisations across Asia. Of these, 22 were shortlisted, with 12 then identified as finalists. Each entry was evaluated by an esteemed panel of judges, comprising of leading luminaries from industry and academia, on the basis of five parameters, which includes urgency around a vision for change, taking directed steps towards operationalising the change, designing a communication strategy, managing initial resistance and institutionalising the change.

Mahindra Rise was acknowledged as the best project across the Asia Pacific region and as an excellent example of conceptualising and executing a cultural change management framework which may serve as a model for many to emulate,” said Prince Augustin, Executive Vice President, Group Human Capital and Leadership Development, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.

Mahindra Rise was unveiled in 2011 as the Mahindra Group’s new brand positioning. It represented a new chapter in the history of the brand and sought to communicate the new face of this diversified federation of companies with its increasingly global ambitions. The spirit of Rise is based on the three pillars of Accepting No Limits, Driving Positive Change and Alternative Thinking. The project was deployed across the Mahindra Group which consists of over 100 companies and more than 1,60,000 employees across the globe.

This is the first time Mahindra as a Group which spans everything from Aerospace to Automotive, from farm equipment to IT and logistics, will communicate with one brand voice, one face and one ‘Mahindra’ core purpose.

The L&OD Roundtable is a non-profit society which drives the cause of learning and organizational development across Asia and is committed to helping practitioners to build scalable and sustainable organizations. It serves as a knowledge-sharing and practice-building forum for HR / Learning & OD professionals. Aimed at facilitating dialogue, building capability and sharing resources, it currently serves 3800+ members (comprising of senior HR Leaders, thought leaders and Practice Heads) from Asia and the rest of the world.
