Suzuki Motors has displayed the Carry LCV (Light Commercial Vehicle) at the ongoing 35th Bangkok Motor Show. The LCV is based on the Carry MPV (Maruti Eeco is also based on Carry) and will be coming to India next year with a diesel engine and a petrol/CNG. The company also showcased 'Limited Edition Swift GLX' variant in the Thai capital. Apart from this the vehicles on display are Ertiga, Celerio and Swift.
Suzuki Swift 'GLX'
Suzuki launched limited edition version of the Swift with snazzy racing stripes in Thailand. The special edition comes in two colors, Snow White Pearl and Ablaze Red Pearl. The features of the limited edition include LED fog lamps and LED cabin illumination and door scuff plates. The hatch also features stripped wing mirrors (ORVMs). Powering the car is existing k12B powerplant churning out 91hp (slightly more than the Indian counterpart) & 118Nm of maximum torque and is matted CVT automatic transmission.
Swift 'Energy Green' Limited Color edition
The company also displayed limited time availability 'Energy Green' colored Swift – the vehicle is definitely a looker. Maruti Suzuki might introduce it in India as this color is popular in India among other manufacturers like Ford, GM, etc.

Suzuki Carry
The India's largest automaker is all set to enter into the LCV segment, the Tata Ace and Ashoka Leyland Dost rivals is entitled to enter in India next year. Carry is codenamed as Y9T. The pick-up will come with small displacement diesel unit and 1.2 liter petrol motor CNG compatible. The diesel will probably be a 800cc 2-cylinder unit capable of producing power in excess of 40bhp. However, the engine is still under developmental phase. A 3-cylinder version of this engine will power Maruti's small cars in future – Celerio, Wagon R.
The passenger version of Carry is not certain as of now, but seeing the success of Tata Magic (the Ace inspired people mover) company might introduce it later. Expect the next generation Eeco to share styling cues with Carry (Eeco is based on the previous generation Versa-Carry). The Suzuki's Indian counterpart has high hopes with the Carry, as ACE was a runaway success for Tata.
Suzuki Celerio
The company also displayed Celerio with CVT Auto box instead of highly popular AMT in India. The vehicle is available with the same K10B – KNext motor which is also mated to a five speed manual along with CVT. The Celerio will be manufactured in Thailand only, plus the Thai manufacturing plant will also cater to the European export need of Celerio. Up until now, Maruti Suzuki was handling the exports of Celerio as well but from hereon it will focus on domestic market demand only!
Suzuki Ertiga
The manufacturer also displayed Ertiga at Bangkok; the MPV is on sale for quite a while now and it only comes in petrol avatar. The car is powered by the similar K14B motor churning out 95hp and 130Nm of maximum torque.
Maruti Suzuki has lot of work in the pipeline for this year; the Ciaz is one of the most anticipated vehicle of the manufacturer yet. The sedan is expected to hit the market in May, Swift and Swift Dzire facelift to follow in the festive season.
