Mercedes-Benz continues its expansion streak in India with introduction of another product today. In an on-going event in Mumbai, the company has launched a facelift model of its already available B-Class.
The refreshments given to the B-Class adds sagacity to the its conventional styling with a number of new attributes resembling the new generation C-Class. The facelift flaunts new front and rear bumpers, daytime running lamps with projectors while the tail lamps get LED elements. Also, the new model is 34mm longer than the outgoing version.
On the inside, again, there is a lot of C-Class influence, starting with the steering wheel with larger buttons and moving up to even the infotainment screen. There are two upholstery options- an all-black and one with beige, which depends on the exterior colour one opts for. While other features include, powered seats with memory function and electrically adjustable lumbar support for the driver and co-driver and panoramic sunroof.
On the safety front, the car boasts all the usual safety equipment that accompany any Mercedes-Benz offering, such as seven airbags, ESP, adaptive braking, brake assist and many more.
While facelifts are generally restricted to cosmetic bits, Mercedes has tweaked a bit in that department too. It gets the same 2.1-litre diesel engine that also does duty under the bonnet of the CLA and GLA and produces 135 bhp of power and 300Nm of peak torque. The petrol variant however, still gets the petrol 1.6-litre unit which makes 121bhp.
Pricing (ex-showroom Mumbai):
B 180 Sport – INR 27.95 lacs
B 200 CDI Sport - INR 28.95 lacs
