Honda has announced that it will be launching its new Amaze on third of March, 2016. Japanese carmaker's best-selling car was launched in April 2013 and this will be its first facelift, since then. The automobile has been spied on earlier which provided us with the opportunity to have a glimpse at the changes.
The facelifted version will be donning a brand new Chrome grill with a redesigned front bumper. The rear is also expected to get some up-gradations. Interiors for the new version are anticipated to be borrowed from Honda’s other offering, Mobilio. This means, new Amaze will get a touch screen infotainment system and a brand new instrument cluster complemented by automatic climate control.
Mechanically, expect the car to remain the same. On the diesel side, Amaze runs on 1.5-litre mill which can deliver a maximum power of 100 PS with a peak torque of 200 Nm. Petrol duties are carried out by Honda’s 1.2 litre i-VTEC powerhouse which churns out 88 PS of power with 109 Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual transmission is likely to remain standard across the variants with petrol models with an option for Automatic gearbox.
The new version is coming at a time when Amaze is bracing to face renewed competition in its segment. While Maruti recently introduced automatic transmission in Swift Dzire to enhance its appeal, Volkswagen Ameo is all set to give a hard time to all its competitors in the segment.
