Nissan, the Japanese automaker has recently unveiled the all-new Qashqai crossover, which will also come to the Indian car market. Now, the company has announced the prices and specifications of the crossover for the European buyers. It has been priced at £17,595 (around Rs. 17.76 lakh) for the entry level model.
The new Nissan Qashqai will go on sale in January 2014, and will be made available in four grades- Visia, Acenta, Acenta Premium and Tekna. The entry level Visia models come with a range of new features including automatic AC, hill start assist, a five-inch colour HD infotainment screen, chassis control, tyre pressure monitoring system and speed limiter/cruise control.
Acenta models gets premium features as standard, and is priced at £19,145 (around Rs. 19.3 lakh). Its feature list include dual-zone automatic air conditioning, premium leather steering wheel and gear knob, 17-inch alloy wheels and a luggage board system. Safety measures include front fog lamps, auto headlamps and rain sensing wipers.
Both the Visia and Acenta models come with the option of a Smart Vision Pack (£450 - 45k) that adds Nissan’s advanced Safety Shield system among other driver aids. Designed to enhance the safety of occupants, the pack incorporates front collision avoidance, driver attention support and traffic sign recognition.
Acenta Premium models feature a slew of comfort and safety technologies. It sports new-generation NissanConnect infotainment system with DAB radio, rear view camera, i-key start push button, parking sensors and a panoramic glass roof. Safety features include front collision avoidance, high beam assist and lane departure warning. The range-topping Tekna models gets Bi-LED headlamps, safety shield with traffic signal recognition and high beam assist.
The new Nissan Qashqai line-up consists of four engines- 2 petrol and 2 diesel, with the option of two- or four-wheel-drive. The petrol model is powered by a 1.2L DIG-T engine, mated to a six-speed manual transmission, churns out a maximum power output of 113.4bhp. The most powerful petrol engine will be the 1.6L DIG-T engine that develops an impressive 148bhp and 240Nm of torque.
The diesel model will be powered by the 1.5-litre dCi engine that churns out a maximum power output of 108bhp. The top end models gets the 1.6L dCi engine that develops 128bhp, and is offered with the option of two- and four-wheel drive.
