Porsche to release new Boxster Spyder

Porsche purists rejoice as the newest and most advanced Boxster Spyder will be presented at the New York International Auto Show. And it is very likely that this model will be coming to our shores soon after its global debut as the most affordable and charismatic Porsche you can buy. Powering this car is a 3.8 litre flat 6cylinder engine that will produce 375bhp. The sprint from 0 to 100kmph in almost 4.5 seconds and the acceleration ends at nearly 290kmph.

Porsche also claims that the combined fuel efficiency figure that can be achieved is a generous 10.09kmpl. Sticking to its classic open-top appeal, the new Boxster Spyder will feature a fabric roof which will be opened and closed by hand. In terms of interior the driver and passenger sit in light sports bucket seats with large side supports.

A new steering wheel with a diameter of 360 mm helps driving precision and agility to this mid-engine roadster. However, this sticking to classic appeal does have a few downsides, such as neither a radio nor air conditioning is included as standard equipment, all in quest to reduce weight. But do not despair as both these accessories can be ordered ex-factory as optional equipment at no extra cost.

An entire range of Boxster audio systems is available for customers to choose from as an option along with the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system with all of its special features. The new Boxster Spyder will be available post July 2015 with UK prices starting from Rs 55.71 lakh.
