Renault Kwid: Holy Trinity of a True Success Story Uncovered!

With over 85,000 units already booked, Renault Kwid became a phenomenon that laid foundation for ingenuity and epitome of automotive excellence, which automaker’s world over strive to achieve. The excitement for the entry-level hatchback grew to overwhelming proportion and to a point where the French automaker has to suspend the bookings of its crossover hatch on multiple occasions. The Powerplant:

The little 799cc petrol powerplant exceeded our expectations and when it came to performance, it impressed all of us with its formidable 53bhp petrol unit, which was only a couple of bhps short of its arch rival’s poweroutput, the Hyundai Eon. Even as compared to the market leader Maruti Alto 800, Kwid managed to outshine the Japanese automaker’s offering by a figure of 6bhps. All of this while offering a segment-best 25kmpl fuel-economy made Kwid, the small car with a golden heart.

The looks:

Renault managed to capitalise on the desires of every prospective car owner in India and gave them an entry-level hatch, which stands true to their aspirations of owning a bigger car. The SUV styling, bestowed by tasteful use of cladding, high ground clearance and exciting colour schemes helped the car burrow its way into the heart of Indian customers.

The Goodies:

Not only is this little hatchback impressive on the outside but as soon as you step inside the cabin, creature comforts like touchscreen infotainment system, AC controls and digital instrument cluster makes the car feel substantially more premium in comparison.

As an added treat, the French automaker will be showcasing special editions of Kwid at the upcoming 2016 Indian Auto Expo ,which will be held in the greater Noida region. The special edition variants are expected to include the 1-liter, souped up version of the hatchback, which is expected to be offered with an option of ABS. Renault might also unveil its AMT Kwid variants during the show and it will be sight to see the crowd react to it.
