Japanese automaker Toyota will be displaying new Auris hatchback with Avensis at Geneva Motor Show starting next week. The Touring Sports Wagon built on the foundation of Toyota Corolla, now comes with a fresh new design and upgraded cabin, that not only makes strong presence but also adds eminence to its popularity.
As part of the mid-life facelift, the hatchback will also get new set of engines. Although nothing official is revealed about under the hood department, but it is expected that Toyota might employ 1.6 liter diesel powertrain that is working in Verso MPV. While on the other hand, hybrid engine will be on the priority list. The powertrain accounted for about half of the Auris sales in European market in 2014. The engine line-up have been improved and focuses on enhanced performance and efficiency.
Revealed pictures suggests that the car gets significant update at the front end with refreshed grille, revamped headlight cluster and redesigned lower bumper. Toyota hasn't released rear images of the car but the back end profile would surely get new taillights and an overall tweaked design.
The interiors have also been spruced up with fresh color scheme, touch screen infotainment system and updated air conditioning system. The facelifted Auris is also strengthened on safety aspects. The car alongside sibling Avensis will be built in company’s manufacturing facility in Burnaston, UK. We will get more details about both the cars when they will be officially unveiled at the upcoming auto show.
