Maruti Vitara Brezza is predicted to be the next big thing in the Indian automotive space. It is not only expected to completely overpower its segment (sub-compact SUV), but even eat into the sales of compact SUVs and C-segment sedans. ET Auto reported that this megastar will be launched in the Indian market on March 21. This gives its competitors like EcoSport and TUV300 less than a month to come up with something special so as to maintain their stand in the segment. Booking for the car are being accepted by dealerships at a token amount of Rs. 21,000.
If you are planning on buying Brezza, here is a short recap of what the car offers. The SUV is powered by Maruti’s most trusted diesel mill. This is the 1.3-litre DDiS200 engine which develops 88bhp of power and 200Nm of torque. Mileage figures are expected to resemble those of the S Cross, so the car will return a mileage of around 23 kmpl. It comes feature packed with amenities like a touch screen infotainment system, automatic climate control, Apple CarPlay, multi function steering wheel, projector headlamps and many others.
Brezza was developed using global product development process and Suzuki's core technology. The localisation level was 98% and the development cost was Rs. 860 crores. Mr. C. V. Raman, executive director, R&D, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) was the Chief Engineer leading the Vitara Brezza project.
