Maruti Suzuki India’s upcoming Sub 4-metre compact SUV offering is all set to hit the Indian market soon. The Vitara Brezza will be Maruti’s first ever Sub 4-metre compact SUV and will rival the likes of Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300. As the excitement around the highly anticipated compact SUV is building up, we take a look at what will make Brezza a hit, even before its launch.
You see, as far as aesthetics are concerned TUV300 might have the Pininfarina inputs and Ford might have its contemporary design, which many feel is striking, as well as timeless, but with the floating roof, short overhangs, bi-Xenon headlamps, racing stripes and contrasting colours, the Vitara Brezza, especially in its yellow colour scheme will steal the spotlight from the other two.
There has been some criticism about the power plant incorporated by Brezza and opinions have been voiced, stating that the car might be a tad underpowered. What one needs to understand and take in context is that up until a few months ago even Ford EcoSport featured a 90PS power output, before it was upgraded to a 100PS unit, which was introduced in the Figo Aspire compact sedan. Considering the size of Vitara Brezza, one can easily deduce that even with the 90PS 1.3-litre DDiS, Fiat-sourced multijet engine, Brezza will be quite nippy. Also, the incorporation of the time-tested mill means that the spares will be cheap, while the overall service network will be vast.
Other reasons that make this car a star even before it has hit the streets are the monetary factors associated with Brezza being a Maruti. We know that Vitara Brezza will hold its value well in terms of resale, over its course of depreciation and considering the fact that it is going to be priced competitively to begin with and that Maruti is known for its low service cost, the future of this compact SUV seems quite promising.
