Arvind rose 1.91% to Rs 272.50 at 13:35 IST on BSE after the company's subsidiary, Arvind Lifestyle Brands has entered into a license agreement with Aeropostale Inc.
The company made announcement during market hours today, 2 July 2015.
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was down 1.76 points, or 0.01%, to 28,019.11.
On BSE, so far 1.49 lakh shares were traded in the counter, compared with an average volume of 2.35 lakh shares in the past one quarter.
The stock hit a high of Rs 275 and low of Rs 267.40 so far during the day. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 341.40 on 16 September 2014. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 199.15 on 14 July 2014.
The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 1 July 2015, rising 8.74% compared with 0.62% rise in the Sensex. The scrip had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, gaining 8.74% as against Sensex's 0.85% decline.
The mid-cap textiles and branded apparel company has an equity capital of Rs 258.24 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.
Arvind said that its subsidiary, Arvind Lifestyle Brands has entered into a license agreement with Aeropostale Inc., the specialty retailer of casual and active apparel for young women and men. The New York based youth retailer boasts of over 1,000 locations across the US, Canada and through licensing partnerships in the Middle East, Asia, Europe, Mexico and South America. The license agreement covers brick & mortar retail locations as well as e-commerce.
Arvind Lifestyle Brands is expected to open 30 standalone stores and 25 shop-in-shop locations over the next three years, beginning March 2016. Arvind will also launch e-commerce selling of Aeropostale products in India.
On consolidated basis, Arvind's net profit fell 49.9% to Rs 46.96 crore on 8.6% rise in total income to Rs 2063.48 crore in Q4 March 2015 over Q4 March 2014.
