Aurobindo Pharma spurted 5.32% to Rs 168.15 and topped the gainers in the BSE's 'A' group.
DLF advanced 4.91% to Rs 246.75 and was second biggest gainer in 'A' group. The stock rose on volume of 20.73 lakh shares, higher than an average daily volume of 11.72 lakh shares in the past two weeks.
Shriram Transport Finance Company jumped 4.08% to Rs 686.90 and was third biggest gainer in 'A' group. The stock rose on volume of 0.73 lakh shares, higher than an average daily volume of 0.51 lakh shares in the past two weeks.
Tata Motors surged 3.92% to Rs 278.15 and was fourth biggest gainer in 'A' group. Tata Motors' British luxury car unit -- Jaguar Land Rover -- on Wednesday, 10 April 2013, said its global sales rose 16% to a record 53,772 units in March 2013 over March 2012. Jaguar Land Rover (JLR)'s global sales rose 17% to a record 115,504 units in Q1 March 2013 over Q1 March 2012. Jaguar's sales surged 28% at 9,856 units in March 2013 over March 2012. Jaguar's sales jumped 31% to 20,210 units in Q1 March 2013 over Q1 March 2012. Land Rover's sales rose 14% to a record 43,916 units in March 2013 over March 2012. Sales rose 15% to a record 95,294 units Q1 March 2013 over Q1 March 2012. Commenting on the global sales data, Phil Popham, Group Sales Operations Director for Jaguar Land Rover said, "Jaguar Land Rover has had a record breaking start to the year reflecting the continued interest in our two great brands and our commitment to delivering desirable products that resonate with customers across the globe. Biocon rose 3.8% to Rs 293.85. The stock was fifth biggest gainer in 'A' group. The company announces its Q4 and year ended 31 March 2013 results on 25 April 2013.
