Berger Paints drops after Thursday's rally

Berger Paints India lost 2.44% to Rs 404.50 at 15:17 IST on BSE, with the stock sliding on profit taking after Thursday's gains.

Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 358.15 points or 1.34% at 26,279.13.

On BSE, so far 1.22 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 42,378 shares in the past one quarter.

The stock was volatile. The stock tumbled as much as 12.59% at the day's low of Rs 362.40 so far during the day. The stock rose as much as 1.08% at the day's high of Rs 419.10 so far during the day. The stock had hit a record high of Rs 424 on Thursday, 9 October 2014. The stock had hit a 52-week low of Rs 200.55 on 4 February 2014.

The stock had outperformed the market over the past one month till 9 October 2014, surging 17.63% compared with Sensex's 2.3% fall. The scrip had also outperformed the market in past one quarter, jumping 37.04% as against Sensex's 4.69% rise.

The large-cap company has equity capital of Rs 69.33 crore. Face value per share is Rs 2.

Shares of Berger Paints India had risen 4.72% to settle at Rs 414.60 on Thursday, 9 October 2014.

Berger Paints India's consolidated net profit rose 17% to Rs 57.46 crore on 16.8% growth in net sales to Rs 1056.16 crore in Q1 June 2014 over Q1 June 2013.

Berger Paints India manufactures and markets a range of decorative and industrial paint products and has operations throughout India.
