Background
The Diesel Locomotive Component Factory at Dankuni on Eastern Railway has been set up for manufacturing of 100 high horse power Diesel Locomotive under-frames per year and machining of 72 crank case per year to bridge the gap between loco production requirement and Diesel Locomotive Works/Varanasi's own manufacturing and machining capacity. The factory will run as a sister organization of Diesel Locomotive Works/ Varanasi.
