FMCG stocks edge lower

FMCG stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index decreasing 9.7 points or 0.09% at 11159.66 at 13:53 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index, Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd (down 4.86%), Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd (down 4.2%),DFM Foods Ltd (down 3.97%),Agro Tech Foods Ltd (down 3.43%),Dwarikesh Sugar Industries Ltd (down 3.33%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Emami Ltd (down 2.97%), Triveni Engineering and Industries Ltd (down 2.56%), Prabhat Dairy Ltd (down 2.38%), Zydus Wellness Ltd (down 2.33%), and Jyothy Labs Ltd (down 1.47%).

On the other hand, Advanced Enzyme Technologies Ltd (up 9.54%), Parag Milk Foods Ltd (up 6.85%), and VST Industries Ltd (up 6.13%) turned up.

At 13:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 285.63 or 0.94% at 30665.44.

The Nifty 50 index was up 87.45 points or 0.98% at 9012.75.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 140.18 points or 1.35% at 10506.71.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 39.66 points or 1.08% at 3700.06.

On BSE,1473 shares were trading in green, 722 were trading in red and 150 were unchanged.
