FPIs continue buying

Net inflow of Rs 327.30 crore on 5 September 2014

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought shares worth net Rs 327.30 crore on Friday, 5 September 2014, compared with inflow of Rs 1732.29 crore on Thursday, 4 September 2014.

The net inflow of Rs 327.30 crore on 5 September 2014 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3823.03 crore and gross sales of Rs 3495.73 crore. There was a net inflow of Rs 315.17 crore into the secondary equity market on 5 September 2014, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3810.90 crore and gross sales of Rs 3495.73 crore. The S&P BSE Sensex lost 59.23 points or 0.22% to settle at 27,026.70 on that day, its lowest closing level since 2 September 2014.

There was an inflow of Rs 12.13 crore into the category 'primary market & others' on 5 September 2014.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 4299.77 crore in this month so far (till 5 September 2014). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 4134.01 crore from the secondary equity markets in this month so far.

FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 5429.76 crore in August 2014. They bought shares worth a net Rs 3101.70 crore from the secondary equity markets in that month.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 82634.91 crore in this calendar year so far (till 5 September 2014). They have bought shares worth a net Rs 75478.33 crore from the secondary equity markets in this year so far.
