Net outflow of Rs 244.05 crore on 4 December 2017

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 244.05 crore into the secondary equity markets on 4 December 2017. On that day, the Sensex had risen 36.78 points or 0.11% to settle at 32,869.72, its highest closing level since 30 November 2017.

The net outflow of Rs 244.05 crore on 4 December 2017 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4011.46 crore and gross sales of Rs 4255.51 crore.

There was a net inflow of Rs 247.90 crore into the 'primary market & others' category on 4 December 2017, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 247.92 crore and gross sales of Rs 0.02 crore.

FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 692.08 crore into the secondary equity markets in December 2017 so far (till 4 December 2017). They had purchased stocks worth a net Rs 9703.50 crore from the secondary equity markets in November 2017.

FPIs have bought shares worth a net Rs 12421.32 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2017 so far (till 4 December 2017). They had purchased shares worth a net Rs 12094.42 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016.

FPIs have bought stocks worth a net Rs 93.10 crore from the primary market & others' category in December 2017 so far (till 4 December 2017). They had purchased stocks worth a net Rs 10024.15 crore from the primary market & others' category in November 2017.

FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 44115.85 crore from the 'primary markets & others' category in calendar year 2017 so far (till 4 December 2017). The net inflow from FPIs into the category 'primary markets & others' had totaled Rs 8471.76 crore in calendar year 2016.
